LBRY (a truncated form of the word “library”) is a free and open market platform where users can share or sell content and creations. The LBRY protocol allows content creators to upload their creations and set a price (or make it free) for users wishing to access those creations. LBRY is built in such a way that the community controls the platform, without the interference of any third parties. All of the sales go directly to the creator without anyone else taking a cut. This ecosystem of media libraries is accessible through the LBRY app; however, since it is open-source, anyone can create a competing application which will still have access to the same content.
Library Credit (LBC) is the token of the LBRY platform that users use to pay for content, receive rewards in, and can mine through the Proof-of-Work consensus.
