Summary
Golem is an off-blockchain computation network project that uses Ethereum as its transaction and consensus layer. It aims to form a worldwide supercomputer by linking thousands of computers together. This network of machines will then be able to do computations such as computer graphics, cryptography and machine learning. Users will be able to rent out their computing power to others in return for an amount of GNT and through its Application Registry and Transaction Framework, software applications can be deployed and distributed on the Golem network. Computations are done in virtual machines on host systems, which adds an extra layer of security to the network.
Golem Network Token (GNT) is the token which can be used to make payments on the network.
