Bird by Bird

Occasionally things can become overwhelming. Tasks may appear too large to begin.

This, naturally, isn’t correct. Every journey starts with one step, etc..

My wife recently pointed me to the Fantastic passing by Anne Lamott which places it another way:

“Thirty years ago my older brother, who was ten years old at that time, was attempting to get a report on birds written he’d had three months to write. This was due the following day. We were out at our family cabin in Bolinas, and he was in the kitchen table close to tears, surrounded by binder paper and pencils and unopened books on birds, immobilized by the hugeness of the task ahead.

Bird by storm.

I enjoy this.
